IRP Volume #9 -
Basic Safety Program
The Basic Safety Program manual will
help you either develop a simple and effective safety
program from scratch or add to your existing program. The
final result will be a program that meets regulatory requirements,
is supported by the upstream petroleum industry and
suits the specific needs of your company. This program will also
show you how to make safety a part of daily operations, and give
you valuable management tools to make your company run more
efficiently overall. This program was developed for the Canadian
petroleum industry and is fully endorsed by Enform.
The Basic Safety Program is suited to all types of upstream
petroleum industry companies, regardless of their size. These
companies may:
- work in an area within the upstream petroleum industry
- be contractors, service companies, non-operating companies or
operating companies
- operate field production facilities
- use contracted field supervisors (i.e., consultants) when
acting as an operating company for drilling, completions,
workovers, etc.
This Basic Safety Program can be used by anyone charged with
improving company safety performance. This could be a manager, a
safety supervisor or any other employee.
